Villa Antinori 2006: Wine Review

13.5% abv
Tuscany, Italy
Sangiovese 60%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20%, Merlot 15%, Syrah 5%
12 months in oak casks – then 8 months in the bottle
My Strength Rating: 3.5

Nice red berries on the nose. Followed by a smooth delivery of red berry, blueberry, and a soft mossy and mushroom like note. This is a very good ‘mild to medium’ bodied wine to be enjoyed with lighter fare like veal or creamy pastas. A mild or mild to medium bodied cigar would be nice with this wine.
